Rio Olympics 2016 is the talk of the town. The most happening news right now is, India has grabbed its first award in the 2016 game of Olympics.
This time, India has delegated 118 athletes this time to participate in 68 events. Ever since the event commenced, we Indians had nail biting moments. We were anticipating the first award and it did not happen until yesterday. Sakshi Malik was the ice breaker to win over a bronze medal for “Women’s Wrestling Freestyle 58 kgs”, in the 2016 Rio Olympics and this is the most proud moment for a woman and for every Indian. Narendra Modi has praised her calling “the daughter of India”.

Sakshi created history by becoming the first Indian female wrestler to clinch an Olympic medal. Aisuluu displayed impressive strength and technique to take five points to open up a formidable lead in round one. But Sakshi who has previously shown strong comebacks was a totally transformed grappler in the second round taking eight consecutive points.
Earlier, Sakshi had crashed out of contention for the gold medal after a one-sided 2-9 loss to Valeria in the quarter-finals. Kaori Icho of Japan won the gold medal in the category while Russia’s Valeria Koblova took the silver.
